The Sun broke through the clouds and the Bride and Groom were blessed with a glorious Wedding Ceremony. They are now celebrating with drinks on the lawn, who could wish for anything more!

The original estate consisted of 376 acres and it was only when William Joseph Walmsley passed away in 1963 that this land was reduced by the sale of the tenanted farms.

The manor house dates back to 1730 and has been substantially constructed in handsome Georgian-style of Brick and Stone dressing.

The current owners bought the Manor House in 1991 embarking upon breathing another chapter into the life of this elegant mansion, creating a fine award winning 4 star country hotel in Lancashire.

Screened by mature trees from the road Bartle Hall is a hidden gem. The house undertook a refurbishment of a grand scale last year, it kept true to its heritage. The flocked wall paper, extended cornice moulding, open fire and 4 metre long Chesterfield create a boutique hotel theme with great personality and roots.

Our chefs have been baking treats for our residents. This week they will enjoy a White Chocolate and Raspberry Flapjack featured below

We would like to share the recipe for these delicious flapjacks with you:

Ingredients:

1250g Oats
850g Butter (Unsalted)
360g Golden Syrup
270g Soft Light Brown Sugar
In addition to the above ingredients we added some white chocolate and raspberries to make them even more tasty. If you are also adding these you do this right at the end before baking.

Preheat the Oven to 180c
Melt together the Butter and Syrup
Add the Sugar and stir until it has dissolved
Pour the Syrup Mixture on to the Oats and mix well
Pour in to a large Greased Baking tray and Flatten with a Palate Knife
Bake for 10 Minutes

We are so delighted for all the Weddings we have hosted this March, the gardens have blossomed and the sun has shone.

Set in 16 acres of landscaped gardens the exterior of Bartle Hall matches the impressive interior. The grounds create the perfect setting for your Wedding photographs. Each of our Suites have their own private gardens where your guests can enjoy our infamous Pimms Cocktail with fresh Strawberries, Cucumber and Mint whilst nibbling on our delicious Homemade Canapes.

Both March 2011 and 2012 has received fantastic sunshine and our Spring Wedding Package is now available for 2013, however dates are going fast so don’t delay!

Our new Wedding Brochure boasts a fantastic selection of Vegetarian Starters and Main Courses. Today the chefs have prepared two of the new main courses, The Red Onion Artichoke and Cumin Crumpet with Ginger Dressing

This dish was divine, the ginger gave it a nice warmth and the artichoke a lovely sweetness. However my favourite was the Fried Mushroom and Tarragon Waffles with Broccoli and Whipped Maderia

Hidden under the mushrooms is a fantastic waffle scented with tarragon, this dish not only has plenty of flavour but is also quite filling. Both the crumpets and waffles were homemade by our Director of Food, who rolled his sleeves up to ensure that they were made to perfection.
